Probably should have said my view was based on this season because you're right he has been good for us previously.
But I'm not convinced he's ever going to get back to those levels unfortunately and at the moment he's a passenger when he plays.
Personally I don't think he's good enough.
Never takes control of a game and doesn't do enough either defensively or in attack to make himself indispensable.
He's like a not as good Dembele.
I definitely agree he needs more time. And more players.
But I don't think that means we can't be very worried about his apparent inability to change things with the current players.
But that's sort of my point.
Maybe in the circumstances, inverted fullbacks wasn't the answer at all.
And the rigidity of approach is starting to harm us.
He can't be blamed today.
He shouldn't have been playing at left back in any case let alone against someone like Salah.
It was a pretty disastrous decision by Ange unfortunately.
Terrible 45 minutes so we then send out exactly the same team and the same system in the second half...and guess what it continues exactly the same.
This is where some of my concern over Ange comes from.
He should have more ideas on how to change things.
This is fair and I'm not advocating for or agreeing with any suggestion that Ange should leave.
That's clearly nuts.
But it is fair to be critical of where we are right now.
And if we don't finish top 5 from where we were then that, for me, potentially reduces the amount of time that Ange...
