    Representing his time away as one season in the Championship simply isn't true. We sold him 4 managers ago after Poch didn't play him or send him out on loan. He's had 3 full seasons in the Prem and 1 in the Championship with Southampton since leaving us where the Southampton fans rate him...

    My Southampton supporting mate rates him as easily their best player and a good Prem level player. The only question for me is if he suits Ange's requirements of a full back. In my mind he does, but I'm no tactician.

    It’s all a real mess. They spent a lot of money on young players but very few were sold for a profit. For around 4 seasons they had a net spend of around £70m a season. Not enough to put them in the frame for CL contention but out of their budget.

    If he’s in that elite Foden, Palmer group sure. But if not he’ll need some experience before being in a top 6 Prem squad.
