It was just such a bizzare tactic , he was leading the press which left a gaping hole behind him when they easily played round him.
let's be honest he's been mediocre in all games since coming back from injury
Totally agree. He’s been a liability to be honest, easily bullied off the ball and constantly losing it with stupid nothing flicks.
That’s fine when he’s creating chances like pre-injury, but he isn’t at the minute. Hopefully he’ll return to full form
Bollocks.
Yeah, I think there Maddison is still not sharp as he was. He’s clearly not fit. Wasn’t training this week according to POK.
Was a mistake to start him.
It’s a shame Lo Celso just can’t stay fit for prolonged spells as I’d like to see a midfield trio of Bentancur, Sarr and Lo Celso thrive when Bissouma is out of form and Maddison struggling to gain his sharpnessYeah, I think there Maddison is still not sharp as he was.
It happened a lot at Leicester where he returned from injury and was ineffective.
We need an alternative here for when he is out but also to play alongside.
He’s been fit for a few weeks now, there is no reason not to give him more minutes rather then sticking to a not fully fit Maddison who isn’t performing that well. It’s a shame Lo Celso just can’t stay fit for prolonged spells as I’d like to see a midfield trio of Bentancur, Sarr and Lo Celso thrive when Bissouma is out of form and Maddison struggling to gain his sharpness
It’s a tricky balancing act for sure. You obviously want Maddison to get game time to try and regain that match sharpness and hope his influence can inspire the team but then Lo Celso could have been utilised much better in the interim to give us another creative option. He’s been fit for a few weeks now, there is no reason not to give him more minutes rather then sticking to a not fully fit Maddison who isn’t performing that well.

4-4-2! Enough with this over complicated tactical nonsense... Bents and Sarr in the middle, Kulu left, Brennan right, Richie and Son up top. Sorted.Could we try 2 up top instead? Richarlison and Son up top with Son floating about to pull players around. Richarlison is so effective at the press and both will score goals up top.
They are both playmakers but Eriksen is a much better player. Less flashy, but loses the ball less and more consistent (in both what he's good at and what he's not good at e.g: tackling..)He’s now playing like the Maddison I saw at Leicester who I wasn’t keen on signing. Too slow on the ball, giving the ball away cheaply, not taking control of the game or playing with enough intensity.
The first 10 games he massively surprised me and I was delighted. I’m hoping he can get back to that form and that it wasn’t just a purple patch.
The chance he had yesterday was the kind of chance Eriksen would have comfortably scored back in the day. That’s who I’m judging him against as Eriksen was the best playmaker/AM we’ve had in my lifetime watching Spurs. Maddison needs to show more technical consistency like Eriksen too.
I absolutely love Maddison, but if he manages half of what Eriksen did with us, he'll be doing well. Eriksen is up there with Modric as one of the best I've seen at Spurs. They are both playmakers but Eriksen is a much better player. But then by that logic we shouldn't build a team around Maddison ether as he is also prone to injury, reports where that he picked up a knock last week and his minutes were being managed in training. Yes he made it through the game but he wasn't particularly good no doubt due to the injury.I think one issue is you can’t really build a team around players who are regularly injured. It sounds harsh but you just can’t trust them, because as soon as you build some rhythm they are out again.
I remember back in the 90s buying lots of really talented players but they were injured most of the time. The likes of Redknapp and Ferdinand were talented players in their day but you couldn’t create a team around them. Same as Anderton.
It felt like during preseason Ange was keen on GLC and GLC has played well this season but for whatever reason his body can’t seem to cope with the league. It’s all very well saying he’s been fit for a few weeks now but maybe he’s fit because he hasn’t been playing?
If Eriksen was more athletic he would have made it to the RM/Barca level as Modric did.I absolutely love Maddison, but if he manages half of what Eriksen did with us, he'll be doing well. Eriksen is up there with Modric as one of the best I've seen at Spurs.
No, he got to the Inter level and won Serie A. Who's to say he wouldn't have gone onto have a similar legacy as Modric, if he hadn't actually died on the football pitch. If Eriksen was more athletic he would have made it to the RM/Barca level as Modric did.
I think he is similar to VDV in the end. Both are technically in that bracket but aren't physically, so they can't play long at the very top.
But yes Eriksen is top 5 AMs at Spurs since PL started. I would even take him over Ginola if we are considering purely whats beneficial to the team (therefore discounting the flair and charisma that Ginola has).
