Does anyone have any confidence in him a) picking a good squad and tactics for Saturday and b) being able to motivate the lads to actually bring it vs Forest in a quest for top 4?

At this point it’s not even about the long term future, that is surely settled; are we sure that he can actually make us competitive in league games? Be honest, do you think we have any chance of finishing 4th?

No, but we have a player that can win games on his own so we might still win.

I'm refreshing SC more than during the transfer window waiting for the Conte Gone thread. I really need to re-focus my life.... My wife is gonna ask me if I'm having an affair anytime soon.
you've done well to keep it hidden for this long mate

You just described the last days of Andre Villas Boas to a T. 10 years on and we are the exact same club, with the exact same idiot of a manager whose squad doesn’t make sense at all, all with the bald prick sitting high up in a swanky box feeling great about himself, all with zero lessons learned.

No idea if this post is serious or not, but I’ll bite:

a) the defeat on pens to Colchester was one of the pivotal moments which showed Poch’s tenure had run its course, so absolutely shouldn’t be used to defend Conte;
b) under Poch we comfortably beat several lower league teams during the good times, including during his first 18 months; and
c) that includes beating Colchester away in an FA Cup game in 2016. 4-1. I think Tom Carroll scored.

The three tweets to me tell me he's checked out and is on pure reputation management mode. I'm sick of him talking down the club constantly and distancing himself from what we have failed to achieve under him.

Not sacking him before tomorrow's game is another levy error

our club is shit mate. I'm with him. what the fuck has THFC done to deserve our undying affection since the CL final?

For example:

Come on, Antonio, there is a line.

Your health is important, yes you shouldn't kill yourself in the job but you shouldn't come out and say the bollocks you are stating.

Instead, what you should do is walk away and be honest. Yes, you cannot and don't want to fix this, but you are happy to collect the remainder of your salary.

Levy and ENIC deserve all the criticism they get and I am right on at them. They don't properly back coaches.

But, there is a line. We are not expecting miracle to beat Middlesbrough, Sheffield United or Milan. You have had 60m Richarlison and Perisic, yet you still haven't given us progress??

It's really not a good look for you. Acknowledge it hasn't been good enough and own the things you are responsible for.

I'd have a ton of respect if he'd just have come out and said that he hasn't been himself and the health issues mean that he has to stay home.

Getting sick of our manager telling us we aren't good enough. How demoralizing for a player must that be?!

I think my last straw for him was after Wolves.

"It is very difficult today, at the end it was one of the best games we played, we created many chances to score and we had the possession.

If that's the best version of his football that he can get out of our squad then he needs to go ASAP. It's just not good enough. We very much need a more positive figure to come in and restore some confidence and belief into our players.

Imagine the morale of the players for tomorrows game. Especially after the post match presser on Wednesday, and these quotes today.

They won’t be daft either, they will see social media and every journo asking what is the point of Conte still being there.

Add in the the fact the stadium will have a chunk of empty seats, if the ticket exchange is anything to go by.

Yet Levy thinks keeping him on till the end of the season is a good idea?

I have only come in to say to anyone still defending Conte, “Are you mad?!”.
Thought I’d give this a bump from Wednesday as it still represents how I feel, but it seems today there are a few Conte-acolytes trying to make the case for him.

Not good enough might be believable if we were just talking about results against top teams. We struggle against nearly everyone.

Exactly. The way our fanbase latch onto something and from then on nothing that person says or does is right in anyway is fucking idiotic. Zero critical thinking or balance involved. Just moan moan moan, whinge whinge whinge. It's been happening to Levy for a while but now it's Conte.

It's just confirms to me that a lot of fans default position on being a supporter is to moan and whinge. Because there is literally no point in crying about Conte's comments. He's leaving the football club at the end of the season, if not before. He's tried his best and it hasn't worked. He's not trying to purposely antagonise anyone. You'll probably even find he's more pissed off with himself than anyone that hasn't worked out.
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Remember how most people in here were so glad there was a breath of fresh air in how he's telling the cold, hard truth? Now he's even called dishonest by some already.. 🤦‍♂️

Mourinho called out some players for being soft and shit but was branded by many as throwing the players under the bus. The players are performing the same shit this time round mind you and Conte was more measured in his criticism but was still called talking nonsense. See the pattern?

I am losing my patience with Conte as well, but I am losing more shit with the players we have. It's far too often the same thing is happening again and I can bet the next manager, with all the best of luck, could still encounter the same situation unless something drastically changed from the top down to a new crop of players we can have while axing the old guards, especially those who have stayed beyond 5-6 years. They have shown they only perform when they like it and yes, they are a selfish bunch, Conte nailed it. They are the ones stinking the dressing room.
