Mate, when you're 1-0 down and need a goal to stay in the tie, most managers would have switched to 4 at the back rather than sacrifice an attacker to maintain a 5ATB system that doesn't even work.

Mate we were 4-2-4 when Romero was sent off. Of course I'm not suggesting he should stick with a Back 3. But we weren't playing a back 3 when Romero was sent off.

That's not what we're talking about - there will be severance conditions and fees built into the contract. It's not just his wages.
Seems very unlikely on such a short deal and we could just put him on gardening leave informally until the summer.

Plus, is Conte really going to fight us if we tell him he can go back to Italy and we'll keep paying his wages for 3 months? He doesn't want to be here.

He had already switched to 4 st the back (taking Lenglet off, bringing Richarlsion on) then Romero got sent off. We couldn’t play just 1 central defender for 15 plus mins, would be gifting them goals, bringing Sanchez on to go 4 at the back was only move he could do.
Have been wanting Conte gone for months, but he has to bring defender on there

The amount of disgrees you and I both got for pointing out the facts?

Do Spurs fans actually watch and understand games. We had been playing 4-2-4 for 10 minutwes before Romero was sent off :ROFLMAO:

Man,we're just cursed as a club in general atm aren't we.
Jose and covid. Conte and his operation, ventrone passing away, mid yr wc. A board that priorities value over need and fit when purchasing. When will we turn the corner? ☹️☹️
Until we get investment at the Man City levels we not going to turning any corner

You also have to consider putting his coaching team on gardening leave also.

Not sure i agree with that mate. I don't think the issue is about our ability to spend money. It's about how we spend money and give whoever is in charge what they ask for to be able to do their job effectively. It's about how the football side is run.

Plenty of smaller clubs in the PL alone that have better footballing operating models in place than we do, it doesn't need a country to just throw a bottomless pitt of money at it.

He turned down Maddison or we wouldn't pay the fee?
He shipped out Gil because Gil wanted regular game time
Richarlison (who I am not convinced is a Conte pick) is back up to Kane, and we all know Kane is not going to be rotated regularly.

Here are the first team players who have arrived under Conte;

Bentancur
Kuluveski (loan)
Forster
Perisic
Bissouma
Richarlison
Lenglet (loan)
Spence
Udogie
Porro (loan + obligation)
Danjuma (loan)

I have no idea how many of them were Conte picks (I want <<name of player>>) - but my guess is it is a short list. Tottenham are more about 'this is who we can get / afford' take it or leave it. Isn't that an often cited reason that Poch had the sulks?

So eleven new players in just over a year. We bought twenty-five players during Poch's five years at the club and roughly the same number of first-teamers within the first year as we have under Conte. No idea how many of them were Poch's picks, but at least half of them look like club decisions or compromises- I have bolded them in the list below- they make up at least half of the total yearly signings.

Buys within the first year/3 windows under Poch:

Ben Davies: Signed from Swansea for £11.39m in July 2014
Michel Vorm: Signed from Swansea for £5.12m in July 2014
Eric Dier: Signed from Sporting Lisbon for £4.50m in July 2014
DeAndre Yedlin: Signedfromm Seattle Sounders for £2.34m in August 2014
Federico Fazio: Signed from Sevilla for £9m in August 2014
Benjamin Stambouli: Signed from Montpellier for £5.31m in August 2014
Dele Alli: Signed from MK Dons for £5.97m in February 2015
Kevin Wimmer: Signed from FC Köln for £5.40m in June 2015
Kieran Trippier: Signed from Burnley for £4.41m in June 2015
Toby Alderweireld: Signed from Atletico Madrid for £14.40m in July 2015
Clinton N'Jie: Signed from Lyon for £12.69m in August 2015
Heung-min Son: Signed from Bayer Leverkusen for £27.00m in August 2015

I think the game was a fucking disaster and Conte is responsible for it, but this is correct. From recollection we were four at the back from the moment Richarlison was sent on.

And people might not like Dav coming on but I can guarantee them that almost every manager in the world would have subbed on a CB after Romero's idiocy. Football teams do need structure regardless of the relative merits of the individual!

Anyway far bigger issues with Conte than that particular sub...

What kills me in the Dan K article is that line... the 'putting off an I'm too good for you' energy' because that's it. That's been it for a year despite utter shite getting us knocked out of the EC with that shambles against Mura. It's like the hot girl offering a pity fuck, only she ain't that hot, she's wearing a weave and pancake makeup to fix up the cracks and you're seven pints in...

Not gone yet, but my personal opinion is he's not going to be here for the weekend. Too much being said behind the scenes.

to be honest normally when a manager who is at the end is going I am quite happy and we can get a change but I don’t feel that at all.

I know deep down nothing really changes while Levy is running the show. It’s mostly window dressing. I love Poch and I think he is a great manager in his own way and a way suited to us but it’s all a bit meh.
