Just lifted this from a pretty good assessment on football365.
Some may know it was a quote from Bill Nicholson, whose Spurs team won the double, the year I was born:

““We must always consider our supporters, for without them there would be no professional football. It would be better to have more fans watching football the way they like it played, rather than have a few fans watching football the way we would like it played.””
You’ve got to read that carefully!

Here’s a link to the article:

PS I don’t think Poch in ‘the one’.

Seems Pochettino is waiting for us to decide.
Seems Conte is waiting for Levy to decide.
Seems Kane is waiting for everyone to decide.
Levy is waiting just as long as everyone else is happy to wait.
I’m not happy with any of that.
I don’t think that Pochettino is the answer in the circumstances that Spurs exist-a footballing folly, that is the bottom of the pile in the business it exists in, even though the rest of the business wouldn’t exist without the football.
Conte sees the situation and has no idea what the hell is going on, like the rest of us. So why should he care when he is also ill and his family live in beautiful Italy.
Kane doesn’t want change if he sees any possibility that things here will improve. I think he now knows nothing is gonna change and will be gone, God help us.
The one person who’s gonna be happy with the whole situation, so long as we stay where we are is……….you guessed it, Mr Levy, the Archangel of rolling the business on. The man who continally lies through his teeth to managers, players and supporters alike. You know why? Because that is what a successful Business Manager does. The End justifies The Means.

I think Kane is the one who has the answer-he forces a move and we need to act. When one player has everything done for him, even down to insistence on taking free-kicks when is is crap at them and insisting on Son’s inclusion in the team, just because Son supplies him with most assists (I realise I’m probs just talking crap here), then the football is in trouble.

So both Kane and Levy need to go, so that we can move forward.
Conte is gonna go anyway.
Think Levy is waiting for Conte to decide, right? Not the other way round?

We've had ITK he's had a three year deal on the table for months. He hasn't signed it yet. Makes the next sentences hit very differently.

Plenty to pelt Levy for, but not offering Conte a deal isn't one of them - it's Conte that's stalling, and seeing if there are better options for him.

Our decision is how long we are willing to wait with that offer on the table - there's a point in any negotiation like this you may need to walk away, and start to plan with another person in the role, or you risk being poorly prepared for next year.

Yeah I get all that but what I’m sort of trying to say is nothing is moving forward on the football side, whereas everything else is rolling on quite happily, present times taken into account.

Whats done it for me is the FA Cup defeat.

We've been poor in the league all season.. But there was a chance our 'winning' manager got us a trophy.

That's the reason we got him in and put up with this joyless brand of football.

To then get knocked out to Sheff utd B team when we would have been a home tie to Blackburn away from the semifinal is criminal.

There is zero enjoyment in watching us play like this to scrape 4th and a place in the champions league. We were doing that and more undrr Poch and for long periods of time classed as the most enjoyable team to watch in the premier league.

I like Conte, i do think his brand of.football can work if you give him all the finished parts, but he isn't suited to our situation.

We need a manager who can adapt in game, change formation and tactics in game when necessary. Rather than someone who relies solely on his system.

It makes is very easy to play against ud and opposition teams know exactly what to expect.

Worse than all this is sticking to a defensive platform and giving lesser teams the initiative against us. The likes of Sheff Utd aren't going to fear us, we let them settle in and grow in confidence.

Sadly we have a little team mentality. We pack our defence and do anything to stop the opposition scoring, hoping to nick something at the other end.

Its certianly not been fun to watch and i wonder how the players feel having to play in such a structured way.

I was thinking about times I've got excited about watching us this season and thought of Gil coming off the bench. It wasn't because he was tearing up the league but because he offered something different and exciting and there has been very little of that recently.

Sadly he wasn't deemed suitable for conte system and was sent out on loan.

We have a winning manager, we have backed him to some degree but this season we are on the verge of just having 4th to play for.

I really hope we go all out to win the champions league, but the way we play i have very little hope of that.

I think you might need to change your username, mate.

It's backing to scrape fourth nothing more than that. It's why we don't win anything because this is what constitutes being backed

And this is where it all started in the summer. Conte was backed with money but we’ll never know if he got his players in or if levy promised him more and failed to deliver. I suspect it is the latter. This led to him then not wanting to renew. The players know this and have dropped off in performances, hence why we are seeing such inconsistent results. The players have known all season and are just not buying in as hard. That’s the only reason I css as n see for the complete change to how we finished last season. There really is no other explanation than that series of events.

The real slide happened after we lost Gian, coupled with what you’ve said and then Conte losing a close friend shortly after seems to have been the nails in the coffin.

My main overriding thought is essentially “What is the point in Spurs?” We are a completely pointless football club right now.

In fact, “football club” is a bit of a stretch. We’re barely one of those.
Has made me understand a saying which I never really understood growing up. “Death by a thousand cuts”.
