Even if you were right, Still two cardable offences
That’s an argument I’m sympathetic too but VAR checks for straight red cards as far as I’m aware. Not if an additional yellow should have been issued

He’s pushed his shoulder then slipped onto the face, not a red for me
Initially I thought that. But another angle looked like an attempt at a slap. I suppose it’s not entirely clear. The officials don’t seem to all be in agreement with each other either.

The american broadcast who is notoriously anti tottenham are stunned and have no idea how ziyech wasn't sent off, at least for a second yellow at minimum

The lack of playmaker has caused us so many issues over the last few seasons. It feels like it’s even further exacerbated by Royal now coming inside as it pushes Kulu out wide. It certainly helps Royal but I feel like it doesn’t help the team as Kulu is our only creative AM.

Very W Ham-esque first half. Solid at the back, working hard but a lack of quality up top.

He didn’t punch him, he pushed. Didn’t look like a straight red to me.

Ref/VAR communication mess, though. What persuaded Attwell to issue the red card before he’d seen the video and then decide to have a proper look?

Yeah I see H88 clarified above, so in essence for Ziyech to get a yellow the red had to be produced first. VAR is a farce though, it’s never cut and dry.

Makes absolutely zero common sense to not be able to book someone for the foul (which he was about to do anyway) and book them for the raised hands.
