Yes very good performance from him (one under-hit backpass aside) as mentioned, playing the Pirlo role. It's only his second performance that I'm aware of in the role, but looks promising, though he's got a tough job dislodging Brozovic. I would say though, that the less frantic pace of the Italian game probably benefits him in that role (though probably hurt him playing further forward) I'm not sure how he'd do playing there in the PL.
I'd be happy for him if he establishes himself in that role. he's the other side of 28, which means his body is beginning it's decline (he's got some years yet though), and I suspect it'll help him maximise his future.

It says a lot about our club and its forward planning /transfer policy if we go back for Eriksen, who pushed to leave.
Same ol Tottenham we're still insisting on cast offs contract rebels freebie loans bargain buckets.
Levy has to get the cheque book out big time and be prepared to take a hit on certain players within the squad.

The ground work had already been done for main contenders. We are in a suspect position of nothing for quite a while with the same players that has missed their chances. We have to cut off and start a new plan for the next 5 years.

Saw a lot in 30 mins or so of his latest performance.
He could be a massive upgrade on Winks, as an option alongside his compatriot.
He could easily play on for five or six years,will remain mobile and has a good injury record.

No club in their right mind would make significant signings in this window. As far as I am aware none have. There are just too many unknowns. I don't think we want Eriksen btw, I think it's just something we are looking at if Dele goes, more to not weaken us.
It would be bad planning to do anything this window, everyone's in the same boat, also it's worth mentioning we made a lot of signings this summer, and we have a very large squad (probably good for this season, probably not so good in most seasons) there is no major gap or major signing we actually need to make.
I know that hurts people who see signings as the solution to every problem imaginable. But as it is our squad is good enough for a top 4 position, and should make that. Investing in signings in January in the hope it would somehow provide immediate results (which rarely happens) and propel us to the title or something, is actually a pretty desperate move, and unlikely to work. Generally speaking, January is a difficult market, even without covid, where most teams are keen to keep their best players. Normally January exists to patch up major squad issues, it's a sign of bad planning to sign in January. Our squad isn't perfect, but those things are better sorted with long term targets in the summer, where better players are available and you can make a calm reasoned judgment. COVID just makes it even more of a bad idea.

Look, he played well, but in all honesty, I think he'd be destroyed in that role in the PL, this just league is just so much more frantic, he would not have anything close to the space he was given in Serie A, and knowing his weaknesses at his time at Spurs, and knowing how he performs when playing in a CM role, I don't think he could do it in the league, and he has still a lot to prove if he could do it against a team, with well, any kind of intensity or attacking intent. For what it's worth I rate serie A as a league, but it is stylistically so different, in Serie A attacks are created from deeper, teams have longer spells of possession, it's a much more deliberate game. Arguebly, Eriksen's difficulty are in part his failure to adapt to the nature of attacking roles in Serie A.
In any case, I suspect that he's not going to be available for loan anymore. He's had a good week, and I reckon he's staying put.

agree with your comparison and conclusion, but not with the point I made- I’ve seen him do it many times from deeper or further forward for us, and even though he doesn’t put a foot in he’s smart enough to stand in the right place defensively unlike Winks, and capable of playing further forward unlike Winks, and picks up the rhythm of a game quickly off the bench.
Winks out, Skipp plus one in during the summer.

I don’t see a world in which Eriksen wears our kit again... but if it happened he improves us.
Now that Ndombele is up and running (literally) Eriksen doesn’t have to do the work of two players if he returns. Him and Ndombele as 8 1/2s with Højbjerg as the 6, even without Kane leading the line we should be able to create chances that whoever lines up in the forward line should do well with.
But I just don’t see it happening.

That’s an interesting point.
Playing alongside Højbjerg as he does for the Danes - where he has consistently produced his best football for the last couple of years - could be just the tonic he needs.
Not at £300k per week, though!
