Stats are one thing but if you watched him week in week out then and looked at the goals and assists I bet they won't be special.Great post. There is a peculiar narrative around Eriksen, especially given that he always gave everything he had for us, despite being utterly run into the ground in the second half of the 18/19 season. Its not like he demonstrably downed tools, like Berbatov for example, and sulked for his move.
But I do think that Poche broke him in that 18/19 run in, physically and spiritually. Like the manager, his heart didn't seem to be in it anymore, and he wanted the change. Hence Jose dropping him, and building the team around Dele... which was totally fair enough, in my eyes.
I'm not against bringing him back, but I don't think its a great idea.
